My review of The Bride Wore Size 12 by Meg Cabot

Heather Wells, former pop star now Assistant Residence Hall Director of "Death Dorm" is planning her wedding, dealing with her estranged mother, and finding Jasmin's (a RA in her dorm) killer all before her upcoming nuptials!
I liked it, even though this is supposed to be the 5th and final book in the series. I didn't read any of the ones before, but I really don't think I needed to. It was also nice to read about a character that isn't a size 2. I love Heather and her sense of humor. She’s wiling to poke fun at herself and point us (the readers) at some of the bizarre stuff that happens around her. Although she has all the craziness associated with getting married in a few weeks, she has to handle the murder of a student in her dorm. One of the best things about this book is that not once have I ever been able to guess the true identity of the killer or his/her motive behind the killings. So it’s always a great surprise when Heather makes this discovery. I think it's a cozy/romantic mystery and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a lighter fun read.

My Review of The Highway by C.J. Box

When two sisters set out across a remote stretch of Montana road to visit their friend, little do they know it will be the last time anyone might ever hear from them again. Former police investigator Cody Hoyt has just lost his job and has fallen off the wagon after a long stretch of sobriety. Convinced by his son and his former rookie partner, Cassie Dewell, he begins the drive south to the girls’ last known location, then disappears. Cassie needs to find Gracie, Danielle and Cody before time runs out for them.

I liked it. It was a fast paced thriller with a lot of twists and turns. There were times when I wanted to snap the cover closed and then there were times when I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed this book, but beware, it is a dark and creepy page turner. I was exhausted by the end of the book! I would definitely recommend this to everyone that is looking for a good page turner.
